FIRE PROOF • HAIL RESISTANT
CeDUR Shakes replicate the enduring beauty of wood without the splitting, rotting, warping, and risk of fire. We developed CeDUR to withstand the extreme Colorado environment, understanding that if it could perform in the high country of the Rocky Mountains as well as the wind and hail belt of the Front Range, it could perform well anywhere in the world. The interface of these environments include every type of weather phenomena imaginable including: extreme wind storms (the highest recorded non-hurricane or tornado related gust), large diameter hail, intense UV exposure, rapid freeze-thaw cycles, snow fall, and of course wild fire. CeDUR is Class A Fire Rated (highest fire rating available), Class 4 Impact Rated (highest impact rating available), certified to 115 mph wind speeds, adds superior insulation value to any property, and more.

fire retardant technology
Our State-of-the-Art manufacturing process allows us to incorporate a proprietary fire retardant to be embedded within each CeDUR shake. In the event of a fire, CeDUR self extinguishes flame spread.
Many roofing products feature a Class A Fire Rating, but you must use an underlayment system to achieve the Class A Fire Rating. The CeDUR product itself is Class A Fire Rated - without the need of a special fire resistant underlayment with testing certified through the ICC (International Code Council).
Unlike many synthetic roofing products that are composed primarily of Polyethylene, CeDUR is composed of Polyurethane. This allows us to produce a roofing material that is extremely lightweight and durable, with the added benefit of incorporating a fire retardant into our manufacturing process. Natural cedar shakes ignite at 375 degrees, the temperature on our Class A certified burn test reached temperatures as high as 1,400 degrees and we did not ignite.
In the event of a fire, flames spread roof to roof, with embers from the fire being a major cause of traveling fire damage. Using a roofing product that self extinguishes in the event of a fire has the potential to save properties and save lives. In terms of installation, you can lay CeDUR shakes down on top of 30# felt and you have a Class A Fire Rated roofing system.
This fire retardant technology is patented and proprietary to CeDUR.
highest impact rating
There are four impact resistance ratings from 1 to 4, with 4 being the most impact resistant. In the Class 4 test, a 2 inch steel ball is dropped from a height of 20 feet on multiple surface points of a CeDUR Shake.
CeDUR passed the test with a Class 4 Impact Rating.
Our testing was completed through QAI Laboratories (https://qai.org) and our test results can be accessed here: (http://www.icc-es.org/Reports/pdf_files/load_file.cfm?file_type=pdf&file_name=ESR-3838.pdf)
solid product with Color through pigmentation
Our Color Through Pigmentation allows color to permeate all the way through our product instead of being applied to just the surface of the product.
Unlike many roofing products, CeDUR is not a hollow back or cavity back roofing product, meaning each individual shake is solid. Our Color Through Pigmentation means you can cut right through our product with a utility knife. This helps ensure superior installation at the roof's hips, valleys, ridges, and eaves. A solid product composition also means a better insulation value for your property. Warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer.

4 Timeless Colors
Similar to natural wood, CeDUR implements a proprietary color system designed to weather to a natural wood tone after the first 2-4 months of installation. CeDUR will naturally age with the sun after the first 2-4 months of installation, after that time period the color will set and remain constant over the life of the product.
Live Oak - Caramel Brown
Live Oak is reminiscent of a brand new traditional hand split cedar shake. It features a fresh cut lighter hue appearance and is emulated to look like a traditional light cedar wood. Live Oak roofs compliment darker tones very well, including tan, brown, dark gray and brick.
Shiloh - Charcoal Gray
Shiloh captures the authentic wood appearance of aged cedar shake that has endured a bit of natural sea moisture. The Charcoal Gray surname is a great descriptive color name for this beautiful product. Shiloh roofs compliments lighter tones very well, especially whites, light grays, and blues.
Walden - Chocolate Brown
Walden is reminiscent of a 10-15 year old wood shake, the Chocolate Brown surname in accurate description of it's appearance. Walden is a tad bit darker in appearance when compared to Live Oak. Walden roofs give any property an authentic wood look that compliments any architectural style and color scheme.
Cool Roof Rated. Title 24 Compliant.
Golden Cedar features all the performance characteristics of CeDUR with the added benefit of being Cool Roof Rated.
Golden Cedar - Cool Roof Rated
The inspiration for the Golden Cedar product comes from the Cedrus deodara Aurea Golden, this tree species thrives in warmer climates, notably Southern California and the southern U.S. and is known for its eye catching golden colored leaves. Golden Cedar is similar in color tone to CeDUR Live Oak with less hints of honey brown and more hints of gold and yellow.
Golden Cedar is a Cool Roof Rated Product. A Cool Roof is one that strongly reflects sunlight and cools itself by efficiently emitting UV light back to its surroundings. The roof literally stays cooler and reduces the amount of heat conducted to the building below. The two basic characteristics that determine the "coolness" of a roof are solar reflectance and thermal emittance. Both properties are rated on a scale from 0 to 1, where 1 is the most reflective or emissive.
Benefits of Golden Cedar:
- Title 24 Compliant
- The California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards are designed to ensure new and existing buildings achieve energy efficiency and preserve outdoor and indoor environmental quality. These measures (Title 24, Part 6) are listed in the California Code of Regulations.
- Higher insulation value, reduced air conditioning use, potential utility rebates, reduction in green house gas emissions, meeting building codes, and more.
- Our inherently insulative product characteristics paired with the Cool Roof Rating make your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
- Average energy savings range from 7-15% of total cooling costs.
